I don't think Disney really need the money. Yes, some people will download it but there are still quite a few who would have no idea how a torrent works who will watch it in March.

You don't need to know anything about torrenting these days to watch pirate stuff - a fully loaded Fire Stick and you're sorted.

I think quite a few people would fall down at the initial step of getting a fully loaded fire stick - or even that it's an option that could be used.

No app really stays functional for that long.

Anything 'side loaded' which needs updating will sometimes tell you that it needs it. Others just stop working.

Within kodi, stuff stops working one day quite frequently.

Just giving a firestick to a friend or relative who doesn't stay on top of that stuff will inevitably end up with it "not working anymore".

Too much hassle torrenting etc & I'm sure most of us don't have the time to watch everything we already have on our watchlists. Waiting an extra 4 months is annoying but I guess the reasoning behind it must be to ensure thay have enough content from expired deals with other platforms like Sky etc.

Even if those sort of people were given a fully loaded firestick, maintaining it (dumping old, non-working apps and installing new ones) would be beyond them.

It's not just addon though - there's also IPTV and Plex.

Bah!

In September, Todd Vaziri of ILM did a thread complaining about the removal of 4:3 and commentary options in an updated version of the FXX app for Apple TV:

A few weeks ago he updated the thread with two reports from different people that Disney+ would have the 4:3 versions:

But now it looks like the cropping is worse than the versions on FXX:
