Inktober 2018.

Recommended Posts

I wish I still had my old drawings. Basically I drew when I was little, then fell out with it, then realised at uni I should have done Illustration, then got a job in retail and didn't do anything for ages, and only picked it up again in the last six years and would like to do it as a job. I've made some hideous mistakes in regard to this.

What you do is 'do'. Draw. There are no shortcuts. There are helpful resources but you get out what you put in. I'm firmly of the belief anyone can pick this shit up with enough practice, all it takes is discipline. Which is why I'm so far behind where I'd like to be.

Anyway, as an example the left drawing was done in 2014 and the right in 2018. It's probably the biggest signifier of how far I've come in 4 years. Whether it's better or not is subjective :P

Day 13. No time for guarded thoughts.

I absolutely love Hokusai's the great wave and when I first wrote this story down I had to have a boat trip just for this picture. And I think I've done a bloody good job. I'm super happy with the result.
