Neo Geo Appreciation Thread

How did you get on with this?  If you didn't get around to it and still have the parts, I'm after some top and bottom plates for my MV1F board.  Lions3 don't have any in stock.

All the corner posts were machined out and i had video and power working. Also i had mapped out the solder points underneath for the joystick ports.

Unfortunately continually screwing and unscrewing the posts led to 1 of them stripping a thread. I contacted Lions and he sent me some new corner posts with metal inserts. That is the point the project stalled as i was waiting for them to arrive.

I will resume it at xmas as i have a couple of weeks off. I didnt think the 1c and 1f had the same coverplates tbh

Have you contacted him directly to ask for parts as i know hes been making parts recently for other systems?

I have, yeah.  Hopefully he's planning on doing more.

Edit - Yeah, C's are a different layout.  I misread your post.

right then... I haven't received all of it yet but...

does anyone want my entire neo geo AES collection, as is/will be

AES, two sticks, memory card, SS1, OG PSU

AOF2

FFSpecial

RGB cable (with headphone connector) from retrocomputershack

5A replacement PSU

MVS convertor

for £450, delivered, before I send it all back, so I can pay my CC bill?

I'd stick it in the trading folder but, a) it's a bit niche, b) I don't have all the items to sell them yet, so... feelers?

obviously the smart thing to do would be to sell my NGCD collection for £300 instead/as well, but... well, hopefully it won't come to that.

Too much too soon!

It takes years to get a good neo geo collection, it really is the 'top table' of retrogaming.

Flip the CD, memory card, one AES controller and your MVS convertor, keep the bare bones AES and a couple of the games.

And s-l-o-w-l-y build up a collection within your means.

We dont all have the disposable income of Cornish, heck, he even employs me as his cleaner!

If my living arrangement was a little different and space wasn't an issue I could imagine wanting to track down a certain arcade PCB or two - maybe an R-Type or a Taito F3 board as there's a flashcart for that and it has a bunch of badass games I really love on it - but this is something else.

Is Kizuna Encounter even considered a gem? I've not seen / played this one before.

that's what SHE said...

Ive always have the rule in relationships that everything was "33%" of the actual price I paid for most things - in fact everything bar cars and houses!

As in "what!! you paid £70 for a pair of shoes you will wear once?"

err yes, £70....

And "That snes mini you got for £30 was a bargain, they go for lots more on ebay"

err yes, a "bargain"... *cackles*

@SeanR I can't believe you're selling stuff

its not really "selling", more... "upgrading"

thats how I sold it to the missus, that she'd see more of me, sans 1x cd loading times...
