It’s gonna be tricky having effectively two Yodas, maybe a scene with Yoda teaching Luke how to be a ‘force ghost’ would give them both a reason to coexist?

We need an ensemble Force Ghost Star Wars story film stat!

Could get awkward in there!

Why would Yoda even be in the next one? Rey would have no idea who he is. In fact, the only characters still alive who have even met him are Chewie and R2.

Spooky Uncle Luke is a distinct possibility though, jumping out from cupboards and moonwalking along in space outside Kylo's Tie Fighter. And possibly telling him that he was adopted.

There's definitely some potential for Luke and Kylo Ren to finish their business once and for all in the next one. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if we've seen the last of Luke now, save for a Force ghost group hug right at the very end, Return of the Jedi-style. I'd be fine with that too. I've had all the OT action I will ever need, with some cool bonus old-guard stuff from Episodes VII and VIII that I never could have imagined happening five or so years ago, and I've warmed enough to the new characters and scenarios to be more than comfortable with what Star Wars is now. Despite all the grumbling of the past couple of months, it's all beautifully set up for the final part of this trilogy, as well as for whatever else may follow - nobody has a clue where the story is going from here, and that's a very good thing indeed.

JJ will 100% bring Anakin back in the next one; to speak to Kylo Ren as a Force Ghost. Mark my words.

I really hope so. Makes sense if the one he idolises tells him hes a noob and to stfu.

Really wanted to see Hayden in TLJ, put him in a good movie with good lines ><

What I'm really beginning to resent is the rhetoric from Lucasfilm that anyone that doesn't like TLJ clearly has a problem with women.

Now JJ is peddling the same rubbish and it feels like a strategy to silent criticism from a PR department. And its pretty cheep shot imo.

After three viewings - I don't like TLJ because its dramatically dissatisfying, full of unnecessary characters and has some prequel level bad stuff mixed in with a clunky structure. Not because I don't think Rey is awesome.

Why do you care? If that's not you just make your criticisms and move on. He's not talking about you. He's specifically been asked a question about the diversity backlash.

Nobody has said to him "what did you think about people who said that the casino sequence was a little ropey" for him to reply "they're woman haters".

I always know someone really hates a film when they have seen it more times than I have, and I thought it was ok.

It’s true though, Poe is the most unnecessary of the characters in TLJ. @Dirty Harry Potter is right, if they ditched him and his story TLJ would be vastly improved.

You could ditch 90% of TLJ and it would make no difference to the overall story. The only bits of any actual consequence are the Rey/Kylo scenes the rest was complete filler.

Poe was pointless in both films.

I can’t even remember him being in that one!

Mind you, I can’t even remember what it was called either.

Watching that just reminded me that the moment on my first viewing that I knew I was going to love this film was Poe's "YYEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!" in his X-Wing when he blows up the thingy. Still makes me grin like a wally now. :)

Dude. Seriously. The Yoda scene, apart from being brilliant, beautiful, funny and moving all at once, was as central not just to this film but to the entire saga as it's possible to be. He was the only one who could truly deliver the message, "The best teacher, failure is", to Luke, thereby turning him away from despair and onto a new path that ultimately led to him sacrificing himself to save the Rebellion. If you can't see that, you probably need to give up on Star Wars altogether! I do agree that there's no need for him to be in Episode IX though.

I see it but I still wasn't that keen on it.

What, even when he bonks Luke on the head with his gimer stick? Come on, that was priceless!
