  2. Haven't read about this at all on here... and thought if true it deserved a thread all of its own... From Eurogamer.... PlayStation 4 VR headset finally coming at GDC - report Sony's virtual reality bet just weeks from announce. By Tom Phillips Published Friday, 21 February 2014 Sony's PlayStation 4 virtual reality headset will finally be unveiled next month at GDC 2014, a new report suggests. TechRadar reports that the anticipated VR device will be formally announced at the San Francisco conference next month, which begins 17th March. Like the Oculus Rift headset, the virtual reality visor will wrap a pair of screens onto the wearer's head. But, unlike Oculus, Sony is expected to have perfected the technology to a degree that multiple versions of the hardware won't need to be released. "Sony has deliberately taken its time to tweak and polish the headset before revealing it," a source said. "People will definitely be impressed with what Sony's built." Eurogamer broke news of the headset last September, when we learnt that it had originally been destined for a reveal at Gamescom 2013. Its unveiling there was pulled, and its appearance delayed into 2014 - a moment that now sounds on the horizon. When quizzed about the device last year, Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida simply said: "We don't talk about that."
  3. List of Gran Turismo Sport (and other racing games) players: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Ylvz-j8zE5hzI9MPRIX84WysTmBrtf24CpWVfPXUefg/ Forum racing (open to forumites and friends) every MONDAY night at 8:30 PM UK time! Send friend request to @McSpeed (PSN = Joe_McSpeed) to be added to lobby and chat [Original post by MattyP:] Well looks like we will be getting another installment of Gran Turismo this year (hopefully)! Couldn't find another thread on this (did a quick search though so feel free to merge) so thought I might start one... One of the shortcomings of the GT series over the years is the sound however it's looking good this time as some focus seems to have been put into this! http://uk.ign.com/articles/2017/06/28/gran-turismo-sport-creator-kazunori-yamauchi-talks-sound-steering-wheels-and-shifting-gears-ign-first Sounding very impressive so far...
  4. Seems like the seminal rhythm based action game that debuted on the PS2 way back in 2004 is getting a PS4/Switch release as well. In Japan at least. But as the Switch is region-free, we finally get the opportunity to join in the drum beating madness once again! Namco Bandai are actually releasing the game in the West as well!! Sugoooooiii!!! Gameplay sees symbols moving horizontally along a timeline showing what to hit and when. Most home versions distinguish single and double strikes, while arcade versions distinguish between hard and soft strikes. A drum simulating the taiko is played in time with music. Successful play builds up a life meter. If the meter is past a certain point by the end of the song, the song is passed. Despite the game's appearance, players may find the game challenging to master. Players need to accomplish at least a 65% clearance of a song which is determined by the 'tamashi gauge' to pass, and can become challenging on harder difficulties as players progress. Debut trailer: Latest trailers: Will be released in Europe for both the PS4 and Switch later this Autumn... !!! WARNING: Avoid buying the PS4 version if you want to use drum controllers. Apparently the build quality is lamentable, compared to their more reliable Switch counterparts !!!
  5. Colour me excited for this. We know that Remedy tends to keep elements from earlier games around in later ones and this gives off a very Quantum Break vibe to me:
  6. E3 Announce trailer: E3 Gameplay demo: E3 LiveCast: This formed a fairly big chunk of the Sony conference and it looked pretty cool to me. According to the developers in the LiveCast, and going by what was shown in the gameplay video, it's a post-apocalyptic open-world adventure game set in the Pacific Northwest where you play a biker-turned-bounty hunter, riding across the gorgeous environment while trying to avoid huge hordes of former human beings that the developers emphatically say aren't zombies but are in fact called 'Freakers'. My first thoughts on watching the video was that it was a Last of Us spin off, which got me very excited. It turns out it's not, but in as much as it does look very derivative of other games and franchises, I think the horde-chasing-you mechanic and the non-linear design should make for some interesting gameplay. Even just watching the demo I found myself urging the player character to get away, so it all seems suitably intense. On the downside, the developers are definitely not Naughty Dog, the last thing they made being the Uncharted game for the Vita, which was pretty sub-par from what I can remember, and the Syphon Filter games before that, which I haven't played but, from what I can recall, were reasonably well reviewed. There's no release date yet from what I can see, but apparently they've been making it for three years, and the demo, if it is actual gameplay (which, admittedly, it did look like), looked pretty polished from where I was sitting, so maybe early 2017, or possibly even by the end of the year. I especially like what seemed to be happening in the gameplay video, where the player was strategically trying to kill the enemies in particular places so that their dead bodies formed an obstacle for the other enemies and slowed them down. That seems like a mechanic that has a lot of potential. The developers are also selling it as entirely open world, so just because the player in the demo ducked underneath the train car, for example, you don't have to go that way in the actual game, meaning that horde encounters can be played out in lots of different ways and you can get creative with the way that you use the environment to your advantage. Your bike will also play a big role as there are very few working vehicles in the environment, meaning that it's more like your 'noble steed' than a bike. What are your thoughts?

  11. Or in slightly off-shoot related language-speak:
  12. Did anyone else start playing this on the Switch the other day (Or indeed has played it on other platforms). I'm really enjoying myself. Combat is fast and fun. The plot can be a little talky and slow but I like the castaways idea and building up the base slowly as you move through the plot is satisfying. Currently I'm level 30.

  17. Official Site: http://www.nobrakesgames.com/human/ Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/477160/Human_Fall_Flat/ PS4: https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-gb/games/human-fall-flat/cid=EP4395-CUSA07208_00-HFFGAMEANDTHEME0 XboxOne: https://www.microsoft.com/en-GB/store/p/Human-Fall-Flat-Pre-Order-Bundle/C22428T6ZLMF Picked this up as I fancied something a bit different and had some spare PSN credit (also it's on XB1, PC). Really enjoying it so far, I know I've missed quite a few achievements trophies on the way looking at the list, really fun physics puzzler. I think these shorter more compact games suit me better than sprawling epics at the moment, really been enjoying a few (e.g Little Nightmares). I'm glad I've taken a punt on this kind of thing lately they really cleanses my palette. I also never felt like I was fighting the controls particularly which is often the case with these (Octodad etc) I'd imagine playing this coop with a similarly inebriated friend would be ideal for this or a pretty great parent/child game Worth a go /10

  19. Release: 28th April 2017 Formats: PS4, Switch Price: £24.99 (PS4) £34.99 (Switch) What is Puyo Puyo? What is Tetris? Really? You know this! So what is Puyo Puyo Tetris? Gameplay Why should I get this? Puyo Puyo Tetris is quite simply the best competitive puzzle game on the market. The mashup works really well to create some really interesting modes, but even if that isn't for you, then you can play straight up Puyo vs and Tetris vs. Or even simple traditional single player Tetris and basic Puyo. Both Tetris and Puyo are the very best in the puzzler field and they work just as well together as they do individually. There is a simplicity to the games, but as the cliche saying goes. Simple to play, difficult to master. You only truly understand the skill levels involved when you take on other players. Much like the fighting game scene. Don't be put off though, as it is a lot more inviting than that genre and you can compete as you improve. The game was previously released in Japan only on Xbox One, PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Xbox 360 but only physically, due to some odd licensing laws. This Western release is only on Switch and PS4 unfortunately, however on the Switch the game is available digitally for the first time. I implore you to get this, not just because it is great, but it might mean we start to see further releases of Puyo titles in the west and maybe even a resurgence of the likes of Super Puzzle Fighter and other games influenced by Puyo and Tetris. 20. That's all you get. That's it. It was enough to make me get out of bed at 2am and scream OH MY GOD
