  3. Just announced in the Pokémon Direct. Set in Feudal-Era Sinnoh and classed as an 'Action Adventure'. Out next year.
  4. Looks metal af, especially as the world is called Cvstodia, and using Vs as Us is fvcking cvlt . No doubt I'll buy it, play it for an hour before I realise I'm fucking awful at it and never play it again but shit, look at it.
  5. Konami has announced GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon, a roguelite action title and sequel to the 1987 Japan-only NES original . Labeled as a Ukiyo-e style hack-and-slash roguelite action game, GetsuFumaDen combines intense roguelite hack-and-slash action with a stunning dark fantasy world, brought to life through the stroke of traditional Japanese art. Descend into the underworld while mastering a variety of unique weapons and equipment combinations. Perfect your hits and timing to unleash bursts of other-worldly powers. While death is not the end, the world of Hell lives and breathes, presenting new layouts and challenges to overcome with each attempt. Highly strategic action based on the unique spacing and timing aspects of Japanese martial arts, featuring ten beautiful and harrowing Ukiyo-e style stages, with fearsome bosses immersing players into the sublime world of GetsuFumaDen. A diverse range of weapons will be possible to be paired to suit a variety of play styles. Reveal trailer: It’s planned for release sometime in Q1 2022.
  6. New P5 game just announced for the PS4 and Switch, a musou style game from Atlus and Koei Tecmo. New thread to allow the other P5 one to stay on the original game and The Royal First Trailer below.
  7. Yes, we already have a huge thread for the Wii release of this game. But it's the best JRPG ever (Source: Me) and lots of people will be coming to it new with the new Switch version, so why not a new thread for it? So What Is It? It's the best JRPG ever - I've already told you that (quiet in the back - it is a JRPG). Huge, open worlds, great storyline set on the back of two huge titans, where people and machines now live and are at war with each other. And fantastic characters as well. It's the scope of the game which I fell in love with - MonolithSoft helped with the world design in Breath Of The Wild and the "Hey, that looks interesting! Let's go over there and explore!" is present and correct here as well. So What's New? Upgraded visuals, of course. A new area. A new soundtrack (with the option to change between the old and new). New menus and maps. But most importantly, a 12-15 hour epilogue with new voice recordings of the original cast which (apparently) tie into future games. Oohhhh. Dual audio as well, for those who don't like the English voiceovers. Don't Believe Me? Have Some Reviews! 8. Unconfirmed: February 15, 2019 https://www.inet.se/produkt/6609611/metroid-prime-trilogy-switch Via: gamefront.de
  9. This is Rhythm Doctor: For those who can’t watch YouTube videos: “Rhythm Doctor is a one-button rhythm game where you save patients by hitting your button on the 7th beat. Every patient has a unique rhythmic ailment and their own storylines.” The video also explains the two-player mode and the concept of boss levels. The dev linked me to a “preorder demo” a while ago after I sent a donation (because I had played the browser demo so much and wanted to give back) and to me it feels like a Rhythm Paradise minigame that never existed, and one that has been iterated on enough times to make a whole game out of it. The one-button format sounds like it would get easy, or boring, but the amount of variety on display makes me keen to see what the full game will offer, and trying to complete songs in the demo without making mistakes is pretty challenging. It’s one of the more creative rhythm games I’ve seen, with a number of fun twists on the basic format (although one person’s creative is another person’s “gimmicky”!) Anyway, the Steam page says it’s out next Friday, and the game’s own website says “EARLY ACCESS COMING TO STEAM FEBRUARY 2021“ so I’ve made this little thread in the hope that it doesn’t slip! The website also has a “demo” link but this goes to the original Flash concept. However there’s also an “offline” sampler if you scroll to the end of the itch page. https://rhythmdr.com https://store.steampowered.com/app/774181/ E: I understand it’s also coming to Switch and mobile but those releases will be tweaked slightly due to PC-specific things that probably can’t be done on the other platforms. Insert your “PC is the definitive version!” master race comments below...
  10. No platforms announced yet, but if this isn't next gen and the number of enemies and things getting blown up DON'T bring the framerate of the PS5 to its knees, then they've failed. EDF! EDF! EDF!
  11. Little Dragons Café is the latest tour de force by renowned game designer Yasuhiro Wada for the Nintendo Switch and the PlayStation 4. Wada is most well-known for creating the popular Bokujō Monogatari series (published under the names Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons outside of Japan) as well as Birthdays the Beginning. Over his twenty years in the game industry, he has also collaborated with other designers on cult titles such as Deadly Premonition. The story begins with a twin brother and sister learning to cook and manage a small café under their mother’s tutelage. All was peaceful and routine until one morning when the twins discover that their mother has fallen into a deep sleep and won’t wake up. Suddenly, a strange old man appears to inform them that they must raise a dragon in order to save her life. Working together with three quirky café employees, the two siblings must figure out how to a wrangle a dragon and manage the family business while finding a way to save their mother. Trailer: Review scores: Nintendo World Report: 9 out of 10 Destructoid: 8,5 out of 10 Nintendo Life: 7 out of 10 IGN: 6,5 out of 10 Gamespot: 6 out of 10 Released about 3 years ago, but I find this quite an enjoyable title to come back to from time to time. The art work really is adorable too.
  12. It's a coming! Without the limitations of Flash I think it'll be amazing! Looks like they had fun making the teaser.
  13. Out on gamepass now and I believe for sale tomorrow. You are time. Your friend Miss Mass gets killed by Golden Boy causing the big bang. You have to travel through time and space to figure out how to stop it. A very, very weird game full of Jazz http://www.genesisnoirgame.com/ I'm only a little way in on XBox but it's really good. Headphones recommended.
  14. This came out on PC last year and Switch yesterday and I think it could probably do with a little more attention. Basically, you play as the last servant to a King who has fell asleep for 400 days to recover his strength. You stand watch over him during that time. But the game runs in real time, so the moment you start playing, the counter starts counting down and then 400 days later, the King awakens. Of course, you could load the game today, put it down and then come back 400 days later and watch the King awaken. Game Over. Or you can see one of the other 8 endings by playing a bit daily. So it's kinda like Animal Crossing, but with crushing loneliness and despair. Basically, you can keep your character entertained for his time alone. He can read books, go exploring and decorate his home. But as things run in real time, there are some places you have to wait to be able to access. Want to get across that trench but can't? Wait a few weeks for the drip in the ceiling to fill it with water so you can swim across. It sounds different and unique enough for me to give it a punt. Plus the artstyle is fantastic, which goes a long way for me. Hopefully it lives up to it and I'll report back on 20 May 2022 to tell you whether it was worth it.
  15. Announced in the Indie Showcase and one of the better surprises. Oxenfree was a great - and unnerving - game and I have high hopes for this. As long as it's better than Afterparty, at least.
  16. Or in slightly off-shoot related language-speak:
  17. Shameless rip off, spiritual sequel or adoring love letter to a bygone era? Who cares! It's a new 2D, top-down Harvest Moon in all but name, made by one guy over four years, with utterly lovely art and tilesets, a wonderful, extensive soundtrack, loads of NPCs with a seemingly large database of dialogue, all the HM gameplay stapes we've come to expect (farming, fishing, cooking, wooing) and all sorts of new elements thrown in for good measure (dungeon crawling, levelling, mining, weapons and armour, decorating, collecting and goodness knows what else). Behold my paltry first crop of summer! Buy some seeds, plant them, water them for a few days, then reap the hot peppers! You know the drill. Either sell them for gold or shove them in your backpack for much needed energy on a dungeon crawling hike. Or give them to one of the NPCs in the hope they'll fuck you. It is taking more than a few hot peppers, I am finding. Die, slimes! I believe I was on a mission for the adventurer's guild here. Yes, the adventurer's guild. Yes, a mission. They paid me in gold coins and I spent them on a pair of sneakers. I am roleplaying a stereotypical lesbian farmer - I thought she'd buy sensible footwear. I have my eye on a girl called Leah. More on her later. Here is another mission I have not yet conquered: Mayor Lewis is a bachelor. He values discretion very highly. In addition to farming, I am pursuing another stereotypical butch pasttime: fishing. That's right, rllmuk! +1 Fishing Rod Proficiency, right here. I can now make a crab pot - or will be able to once I gather the appropriate crafting materials. What is a crab pot? I don't know. And we're talking Animal Crossing levels of fish action here. Not just fish, either - collectables gallore to donate to the museum. KK Slider is filing a copyright infringement suit as we speak. The NPCs all have daily routines and cycles: some serve at shops then bugger off to the pub at 5pm then don't go home until midnight. I waited outside Mayor Lewis the bachelor's home until 1am, hoping to give him a present he'd asked for, and he never came home. Where was he? What was he up to? I have my suspicions. There is a doctor, a publican, a fisherman, a tramp and others. Here is Demetrius the scientist, suggesting I get his wife to show me how to use my telescope round the back: You can build the usual chicken coops and barns and house extensions, but there are other intriguing buildings such as the Slime Hutch: Here you can create slime balls. This building costs 10,000 gold. As you can see, I currently have ... 83 gold. For now, slime balls are a dream. There is a day/night cycle (limited to 2am so far). There are seasons. There are festivals and special events. All the girls refused to dance with me at the summer dancing fair, but I think gay marriage is in, judging by the unisex array of weddable single people - if it's not I'm getting a fucking refund, but we'll soon see. That is all for now. I am trying to get into Leah's house. Updates soon.
  18. I got this today on Switch and I'm utterly hooked. It's a town builder that's a little along the lines of a game like Stardew valley but it takes a much more relaxed route. It's a town builder as well so you're building houses and shops and stuff to grow your town. You chop trees, catch bugs, fish, farm etc but every aspect is made as chill as possible. You also have full terraforming control over your town. You can raise and lower land, move absolutely anything anywhere else. It doesn't have a real time clock. Time passes by you using energy to do things so if you want to stop and plan something out there's no ticking clock. It's dirt cheap, available on Switch and PC and you shoudl buy it.
  19. The audio design for this is shaping up to be excellent. I think I'm looking forward to the music more than the actual game... Some golden-oldies.. Roll on Friday!
  20. I played a simple but rather nice twin stick shooter on the Switch called Tesla Vs Lovecraft. I found out today that there's a hugely improved sequel called Tesla Force. So I got it on Steam. It's really fun. Lots of perks and unlocks. Turns out it came out on Switch today. Did anyone else play this or the original?
  21. A new game from the team that brought you Shovel Knight. A quintessential Ninja action game in the style of Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden. https://yachtclubgames.com/cyber-shadow/ Pre-orders will be available soon on all formats: Steam, Switch, PS4, Xbox One
  22. Seems like the seminal rhythm based action game that debuted on the PS2 way back in 2004 is getting a PS4/Switch release as well. In Japan at least. But as the Switch is region-free, we finally get the opportunity to join in the drum beating madness once again! Namco Bandai are actually releasing the game in the West as well!! Sugoooooiii!!! Gameplay sees symbols moving horizontally along a timeline showing what to hit and when. Most home versions distinguish single and double strikes, while arcade versions distinguish between hard and soft strikes. A drum simulating the taiko is played in time with music. Successful play builds up a life meter. If the meter is past a certain point by the end of the song, the song is passed. Despite the game's appearance, players may find the game challenging to master. Players need to accomplish at least a 65% clearance of a song which is determined by the 'tamashi gauge' to pass, and can become challenging on harder difficulties as players progress. Debut trailer: Latest trailers: Will be released in Europe for both the PS4 and Switch later this Autumn... !!! WARNING: Avoid buying the PS4 version if you want to use drum controllers. Apparently the build quality is lamentable, compared to their more reliable Switch counterparts !!!
