    Dirt Rally

@McSpeed I have questions, you lucky bugger! 1. What's the online rally setup like? I'm sure I read that this was going to give us cross platform rally / leaderboards. That would be a great thing for Rllmuk! 2. Are you on base PS4? If so, what's the performance like? I'm kind of worried this is the one that pushes it too far. 3. Is the campaign much different to DR1? That felt very bare bones and I could imagine big improvements. 4. Are there proper time trials for evil scum like me who want to go against the spirit of Rally? Please tell me we have functional TT leaderboards this time!!!

Why couldn't I do that when it counted? Let's get the next championship going.

Sorry, I have dropped off this hard since Smash Bros. came out. Would like to get back into it though.

No, it really isn't there. Guess they decided to prioritise playable characters, stages, gameplay etc over translating reams of text that you can find on the internet anyway.

    Nintendo Switch

Don’t let him get to you. I think he gets off on making other people feel bad. I bought a Magic NS dongle to use my Wii U pro controller on Switch. Can also plug in my old 360 USB arcade stick. Works great.
  6. So this is why Furukawa said there might not be any more Nintendo hardware... (shudder)

@bradigor Try adjusting your stick sensitivity to low if you want less smashes. Probably only makes a tiny difference though. I'd recommend the opposite approach, which is to always do smashes on the left stick and set the right stick to tilts. Also, online, for some reason it starts you off on a high GSP when you start playing online if you've done some single player stuff. Really bad decision IMO. Anyway, if you play for a while and lose a bunch, your GSP will drop for that character and you'll find a more appropriate matchmaking level, which will allow you to enjoy the feeling of beating up children.

I find that a tilt attack in the opposite direction works in this situation. I have this set on the right stick.

+1 for watching the documentary btw. I watched it a few years ago, then got worryingly into watching Melee tournaments online. I’m very interested to see how the competitive scene for Ultimate develops. Looks to have a ton of potential.

So am I right in thinking that 1. Matchmaking is based only on character GSP? 2. Roster GSP affects your starting character GSP, but once you play a character online once, the character GSP becomes independent of roster GSP? 3. Character GSP is only affected by online battles, not single player modes? The system has confused the hell out of me! Absolutely loving 1vs1 online mind. Up to 2m GSP with Marth now and edge guarding is starting to really happen!
  13. The random pausing is there, but the bigger problem was good old fashioned janky frame rate. I tried 30fps lock but couldn't tolerate it. Sorry - I'm that guy.
  14. I did bounce off it (Dead Cells) really hard after perhaps 10 - 15 hours and reaching the clock tower. I wasn't enjoying the gameplay as it seemed to become a numbers game more than skill based. As the enemies and my character got stronger through the game, I found myself increasingly button bashing through the them rather than playing with care. I very often find that games with levelling suffer from this, where the early game is balanced and it gets less balanced as you progress. I also didn't like the art style at all and the poor performance on Switch didn't help. I confess, I am very sensitive to frame rate drops. The game felt cheap to me. I didn't resonate with it.
