  1. https://deadline.com/video/three-thousand-years-of-longing-trailer-idris-elba-tilda-swinton-george-miller-cannes/ Tilda Swinton and Idris Elba star in this fantasy romantic drama from George Miller. Swinton is Dr. Alithea Binnie, a scholar who picks up an interesting object in Istanbul. Elba is a djinn who comes from that object and grants her three wishes. Certainly looks interesting

    Squid Game

The Squid Game creator is developing a satirical comedy based (I don't know just how loosely) on creating Squid Game and its unexpected overnight success. Provisionally titled The Best Show on the Planet.
  5. No details on international plans or even US price yet, but they're starting to talk about the ad supported cheaper subscription. They say movies and TV shows under an hour won't have more than 4 minutes of ads. Profiles for preschoolers won't see any ads.
  6. It's getting a 10 episode anime version. They say it'll be sperate from the main show. It'll be directed by Takashi Sano, who directed two anime Rick & Morty shorts.
  7. One of the S1 cast is carrying over, other than Reacher himself. Maria Sten's Frances Neagley. For those familiar with books, S2 is based on Bad Luck and Trouble. "When the members of Reacher’s old military unit start turning up dead, Reacher has just one thing on his mind—revenge."
  8. They've teased a previously unannounced show from Jon Watts. Described as an 80s Amblin style coming of age story. Set after RotJ.
  9. MGM don't fully own Bond. Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson and their EON production company also own them and have more of a say in certain aspects.
  10. https://deadline.com/video/spiderhead-trailer-miles-teller-jurnee-smollett-chris-hemsworth-netflix-pic/ Thor hasn't beheaded Spider-Man. Netflix darkly comedic psychological thriller directed by Joseph Kosinski and starring Chris Hemsworth, Miles Teller and Jurnee Smollett. Set in an island prison run by Hemsworth's Steve Abnesti, where inmates have a device surgically attached which administers mind altering drugs, in exchange for reduced sentences. Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick adapted the script from a short story. Coming on 17 June.
  11. It’s an 8 episode series (with the first two being shown together). Not sure if there is scope for more than one season. It’s based on a book I’m not familiar with.
  12. https://deadline.com/2022/05/how-can-there-be-another-rose-former-doctor-who-companion-set-for-return-heartstoppers-yasmin-finney-cast-in-major-role-1235024951/ Yasmin Finney to play Rose. Sounds like it's supposed to be the same Rose as Piper played, somehow.
  13. You do need a sub. It was free for a limited time, so the thread title is out of date.
  14. Next movie, after Lightyear, has been announced. Due 16 June 2023. Directed by Peter Sohn of The Good Dinosaur and the Partly Cloudy short. Set in a city where fire, air, land and water people live together. The man characters are Ember and Wade. Fire and water people, if it was too subtle for you. The water and fire pair are about to discover how much they have in common. No teaser or anything yet, just a title and concept picture.
  15. No doubt, being Native American, they're all expert trackers, deadly expert with primitive weapons and all that kind of thing. In Hollywood anyway.
  16. In fairness, grinding gears could be as much a comment on being an American "driving stick".
  17. It'd be a weird military funeral if there was no saluting.
