    Okami HD

Never played before, and it’s taken a fair while to sink it’s teeth in to me — i think the slightly clunky controls and dated feel took a while to acclimatise to — but having now beaten the first boss its clicked. It has has a really lovely vibe to it, and the relatively forgiving nature difficulty wise (well so far anyway) fits perfectly with my needs for a game to relax rather than frustrate at the moment. Not sure yet whether it’s got enough to see me complete it, but I’m enjoying the ride for now. Is it stupidly long or reasonable. Recently gave up on AC: Origins as it outstayed it’s welcome, hoping this isn’t as horribly padded out.

Edging higher. Got about 51k last game. Bloody red and white blobs skin is my kryptonite.

Wow. Beyond my comprehension atm. Managed somewhere in the region on 40k earlier.

First time lumines player - only managed to get to lvl 27 so far. The white and light blue skin fails me every time. It’s too addictive. Questions. Is it “loo-mines” or “loo-min-ez”? Or even “loo-meens”?
  6. Never played a Soulsborne game, and swore it’s not for me; too hard, I’ll just get angry, etc etc. But having played through God of Wat recently, and not wimped out by going easy then surprising myself by completing it without breaking a sweat, I’ve sort of been tempted/inspired to try. Is this remaster a good jumping off point point? Start easy and work up or just go for it and die a lot?

    Assassin's Creed Origins

Picked this up in the PSN sale and I’m enjoying it quite a lot. The combat is shonky as hell, especially coming from the visceral, crunchy and satisfying God of Wat - it’s very floaty and unresponsive. However the fun of the game is in avoiding combat, and it still mails that thrill of feeling like a super-assassin, laying waste to a fortress full of enemies without anyone detecting you. Ira ridiculously huge and I’m not sure I’ll stick it out to the end, but I’ve hit lvl 20 now and it’s still getting better. Quite pretty too (although again, disappointing next to God of Wat). A solid 7-8 out of 10 for me
  10. Finished the first play through yesterday. Thought the story was pretty well told all in all, although it felt quite padded out and simultaneously like the stories developed too quickly. I liked the story of Connor best - kind of a classic live/hate buddy movie vibe. Also some great moments in Markus’ story. Only played Heavy Rain as far as Cage games go, and this was by far a better game IMO. Very formulaic but clearly put together with a lot of love and attention to detail. Pretty tempted to play through again though, and make terrible choices. See where it takes me

    God of War (2018) - Magni-ficent!

I am an archetype shit, play it on easy gamer, but I decided to give this a bash on normal. And found it surprisingly ok. Had a few tricky battles but I think it's a game you genuinely learn and improve from each encounter. Now tacking Muspelheim or whatever it's called. So far so good.

Finished the story just now. Just a fantastic end to a quality quality game. Its up there with the greats IMO.

    God of War (2018) - Magni-ficent!

I’ve got to play stupid Fortnite, a game I loathe wholeheartedly, because my son wants to play with me (which I do love). It’s our weekly chat on PSN with the odd 30 seconds of running around before I die. I want to play God of War

    God of War (2018) - Magni-ficent!

Yeah that was tense. The fact it didn’t let you take your time was a nice change. And infuriating. And awesome. And satisfying as hell when you finally nailed it. Fucking love this game. My girlfriend is really enjoying watching it too which isn’t a regular occurrence. Just the stories and the little moments of comedy or affection. Brilliant.
