  1. Nintendo Switch

I have an android app called DailySwitch, some guy on ERA made it but it's pretty good, it includes a news skimmer for Switch news stories, all EU and US sales and upcoming release dates. No idea if it's on iOS.
  2. Nnngh why does this have to look so good? I'm currently juggling Xenoblade Chronicles 2, No Man's Sky and Stardew Valley, it would be suicide to add this to the mix too....right?
  3. Monster Hunter: World

I'm incredibly uninformed about how PS+ works, so does anyone know if this can be played online on PS4 without a subscription? I always assumed it was just no online play at all without PS+, but then I found out that I could play Fortnite Battle Royale, so now I'm just confused....If you don't need PS+ it's going to be awfully tempting...
  4. I've read that the RC car displays a night-vision view of what it sees through the IR camera on the screen, they demoed it by building an obstacle course and putting a box over it, then getting people to drive around it using the camera. Also you can save recordings on from Piano. God this looks bloody amazing, 7-10 year old me obsessed with technic lego and building paper stellated icosohedrons would have lost his mind!
  5. Yeah I can see how it would be fun if that's how you approach it, it just doesn't work for me. I don't have a lot of gaming time, so for single player games I just play the main story and then that's that. If you needed to master hunting the big robots to finish the game then I'd do it, but otherwise it just feels like I'm wasting time that could be spent playing something else. I'm the same with things like Bayonetta, everyone raves about how the real game is getting S ranks on hard or whatever, but it took me a few weeks to find time to finish it on normal! It was great fun doing it, but I wouldn't dream of starting it again once it's done.
  6. Yep, and I walked past most of them. I find the controls pretty clunky (spoiled by too many gyro-aiming games) so I don't enjoy fighting them. There doesn't seem to be much point fighting them anyway, I've generally only fought stuff when it's mission critical and I'm approaching the end-game without feeling under-levelled.
  7. Game of the Year A1. The Legend of Zelda : Breath of the Wild A2. Super Mario Odyssey A3. Resident Evil VII (PSVR) This has justified getting a PSVR in the Black Friday sales for me. I think without VR it would be a well made if rather slow and simple game, but playing in VR really elevates it. Me and my wife played through it taking turns, which helps with the VR sickness. I'd say it starts better than it ends though, the early parts where you have little or no weaponry and have to hide from Jack are absolutely terrifying, but the later parts turn into a bit of a shooting gallery. A4. Splatoon 2 A5. ARMS Most Disappointing Game of the Year Z1. Horizon : Zero Dawn Meh. You'll see that I've rated this highly for visuals and writing, but as a game it's just...boring. The gameplay consists of just walking from waypoint to waypoint, interspersed with a good si-fi story and lots of 'slowly snipe all the baddies in a camp until they see you then spam your way through the fight' bits. Z2. 1-2 Switch Z3. Snake Pass I really wanted to like this but it was just horrible to play. Reminded me of Octodad. Z4. Z5. Sound Design of the Year S1. The Legend of Zelda : Breath of the Wild S2. Resident Evil VII S3. Megaton Rainfall Bit of an odd one, the game is fine but unremarkable, but I like the way the soundtrack mixes on the fly depending on what you're doing. Visual Design of the Year V1. Super Mario Odyssey V2. Horizon : Zero Dawn V3. ARMS Writing of the Year W1. Golf Story Genuinely funny, which is a rare thing in gaming. W2. Horizon : Zero Dawn I'd love to watch this as a film, it's just a shame the boring game gets in the way! W3. The Legend of Zelda : Breath of the Wild Gaming Format (System) of the Year F1. Switch Publisher or Developer of the Year P1. Nintendo Best Supported Game (from pre 2017) of the Year B1. Doom (2016)
  8. Horizon Zero Dawn

Cheers, I'll probably finish it then just to avoid a bollocking from my wife for wasting money on it! It's just I have Doom and Resi 7 VR on the go, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 waiting, and they're all so much more interesting...
  9. Horizon Zero Dawn

Could someone tell me roughly how close to the end I am? Assuming I don't bother with any side stuff. I'm finding the game pretty tedious I'm afraid, and I have limited playing time and lots to play. If I'm over half way through I'll probably carry on.
  10. Nintendo Switch

    And The Wonderful 101!
  11. Splatoon 2

I use the Tentatek Splattershot for pretty much everything, it has a nice balance of range and power, and splat bombs, which are so much part of my playstyle that I can't really use weapons that don't have them! The only problem is that the jetpack special sucks, especially since it was nerfed a while back. I usually use the Jet Squelcher with toxic mist sub for tower control though, range is really important for that mode and splat bombs are pretty useless against a tower so I can live without them. I'm hoping with the patch to change weapons between matches I'll try and diversify a bit.
  12. 46228538204 I'll add everyone else tomorrow when I'm supposed to be working.
  13. Splatoon 2

This new music is fantastic, think The Levellers meets Splatoon.
  14. Nintendo Switch

The Switch screen is plastic but tough plastic, in my experience you don't need a screen protector, I've used mine loads since launch and it doesn't have so much as a hairline scratch on it.
  15. Nintendo Switch

That looks awesome! Not mentioned in the video is that you can now change weapons between rounds and the level cap has gone up to 99! (I'll never get there hehe). Best of all Walleye Warehouse is back! That new clam collecting ranked mode is intriguing, not sure I quite understand it but I bet it'll be brilliant.
